Senior Pastor & Youth Pastor
With a deep love for Christ and His church, Pastor Paul and his wife Shelley have faithfully served in youth ministry for over eight years, sharing the message of Jesus’ love and grace. Their passion for discipleship is matched by their joy in everyday life — they’re devoted fans of the Denver Broncos and Colorado Avalanche, but above all, they are devoted followers of their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. They are blessed with three wonderful children and two cherished grandchildren. Life on their small farm outside of Bowie is full of warmth and activity, shared with cows, chickens, three dogs, and a cat — a setting that reflects their love for family, faith, and community.
Worship Leader
Shelbi Hoot serves as one of our dedicated Worship Leaders, inspiring and guiding our congregation through meaningful and uplifting musical worship experiences designed to enrich our spiritual journey collectively.

Pam and her husband, Derl James, have shared 39 wonderful years together. After moving to Nocona Hills in 1999, they quickly became part of the church family. Their growing family includes 4 children, 8 grandchildren, and 3 great‑grandchildren. Pam loves golf, sewing, and any opportunity to spend time with the people she loves most.
Office Personnel
Since moving to Nocona Hills in 1999 with her husband Bob, Jan has been actively involved in ministry at NHCC. Her love for connecting with others shines through in everything she does — whether she’s cooking for loved ones, enjoying a round of golf, traveling, or diving into a good book. Jan feels deeply called to serve and considers it a privilege to assist in the church office, supporting the Pastor and various ministries. Her joyful spirit and servant’s heart continue to bless the NHCC community in countless ways.

The Nocona Hills Community Church Iron Men ministry is a non-denominational gathering of men that join together at 8 am the first Saturday morning of each month to disciple, grow, and encourage one another in our faith. A goal of the ministry is for area men to learn to stand up as men of God and take our appointed roles as leaders for our families, churches, workplaces and community. We regularly enjoy a home-cooked, hearty breakfast along with great fellowship and a brief word of spiritual encouragement. We also contribute physically and monetarily to local mission efforts.
Cornerstone serves our special needs community. Our leadership has a passion for teaching and connecting with teens and adults with special needs, this is a friendly place for friends and families interested in learning about the Bible and connecting with others. Though this ministry focuses on our special needs friends, all are welcome to attend. We currently meet once a month on Saturdays. Mark 16:15 says, “And he said them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.”
“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” (1 Peter 4:10) The Bereavement Ministry works in unison with the Compassion Ministry providing valuable support to families. The Bereavement Ministry works to arrange food to individuals/families who have lost loved ones or are convalescing from surgery/traumatic events. Many times, this takes away that responsibility which allows family members time to care for each other. The Compassion Ministry provides support to survivors who are dealing with the phases of loss and the first time decision making issues.
Music Ministry opportunities abound at NHCC. If you have a singing voice and would like to be on the Praise and Worship Team, or if you would like to be a part of a larger group like the Choir, there is a place for you. In addition, the Praise & Worship Team are always looking for members with instrumental talent. The Audio/Visual Team assists the Music team on Thursday night practices and on Sunday mornings. If technology is your thing, we have a place for you to fit in with this team. Experience with Microsoft is definitely to your advantage, but not required.
The Women’s Bible Study has been the foundation of many other women’s ministries. The group has been blessed and God directed throughout the years. Lifelong friendships have developed, bonding us as we study, pray and serve others. Everyone is welcome to join in on Mondays at 2 pm in the Church Fellowship Hall.
The name “Refuge” is an acronym for a group of women of all ages and walks of life that meet every other Monday night at 6:30 PM. These women come together to REST in the presence of God, receive ENCOURAGEMENT from others, receive/give FORGIVENESS, have UNDERSTANDING of the Word of God, experience God’s GRACE, and ENTER into meaningful relationship with God and other women. “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28.
“There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” John 15:13. The United States Military men and women make this sacrifice every day. The Women's Ministry sponsors a Chili Lunch Fundraiser on the Wednesday before Veteran’s Day in November. Each year the funds are used to purchase Christmas gifts for the hospitalized and homeless. Gifts such as toiletries, jackets, warm blankets, socks, underwear, and other necessary items are given. We now serve our own Montague County Veteran’s Service, Sam Rayburn Memorial Veterans Center in Bonham, TX, as well as, the original beneficiary, Oklahoma City VA Hospital.
Intercessory prayer means to “plead on behalf of another.” All believers are called to intercede for one another. If you have a prayer need or want to become one of our Warriors, contact the Church Office. Cards are sent out by the Women’s Bible Study to prayer recipients encouraging them with our continued support and thankfulness.
The purpose of Hearts & Hands is to serve others and build relationships with women in our community. The Apostle Paul told the Romans, “If your gift is serving others, serve them well.” Our women have “hearts” for the Lord and “hands” willing to serve people in our church and community. The Ministry enjoys doing seasonal crafts and projects for various groups. Grace Care Center, Cherry Street Village, Nocona Elementary Kindergarteners and the Nocona Hills Community Church youth programs are just some of the groups that have been served.
A group of our ladies attended a retreat in East Texas in 2008. They were so inspired by the group of ladies worshipping the Lord, that they enthusiastically began making plans for the first Nocona Hills Community Church Women’s Retreat, “High Heels, Flip Flops & Running Shoes”. The annual themed event is held on a Saturday in October. This retreat day is all about being refreshed and renewed in God’s presence and word.
Illness sometimes requires a physical need for comfort and a reassurance that the recipient is continually in our prayers. The Women’s Ministry is blessed to have many talented ladies who craft shawls and pillows, along with handmade cards to be included with each gift. Each gift is prayed over asking for healing, peace and that it will provide comfort and love to the one who receives it. This act of kindness has proven to be an overwhelming gift of gratitude by the notes, cards and letters the Women’s Ministry receives.
Deuteronomy 4:29 says, “If you seek the Lord your God, you will find Him.” and that is just what R.I.S.C. Student Ministry is designed to do. We are Readied Individuals Seeking Christ. Here, students have a place to share with their friends in Christ who understand their fears, joys, pain and disappointments. This is a time for Middle and High school students to have some fun, meet other students, share a meal, worship and "lean" into God's word. Join us for an awesome time in our amazing Youth Building every Wednesday night from 6:00 - 7:30. Pick-ups can be arranged.
Each Wednesday from 4:30-6:00 pm, children Pre-K to 5th grade are invited to participate in this ministry. This children’s ministry is committed to teaching the true word of God and empowering the children to walk it out by faith in their daily lives. This ministry is based on the scripture that “I can do all things through Him who gives me strength.” Philippians 4:13 The children can be dropped off by the Prairie Valley and Nocona buses.
